Isaiah 41

God speaks with tenderness, "Fear not for I am with you." God's people are compared with worm (v14), in humble thoughts, so little and weak, but not vipers, seed of serpent that bite. In our prayers, "present your case to the Lord, and bring forth your strong reason," (21) why should He give you an answer.

God bless you.

Isaiah 40

Israel was in crisis and in captivity. God had punished them because of their sins. Yet He asked all people, "Comfort, yes, comfort My people." It tells us that if His people suffer, He also suffers and feels our sufferings. He encourages us to trust His power in time of pain, and not to compare Him with powerless carved images.
God bless you.

Isaiah 39

Hezekiah showed his treasures and achievements to the Babylonians with pride, without giving glory to God. He forgot to share the healing of his sickness and miracles which excited their attention for visiting him. In our lives, always stay in the site of humility, we can't boast to men the things that we have done if we want God to bless us.

God bless you all.

Isaiah 38

When we pray for our sickness, though God did not sent to us such an answer as He did to Hezekiah, let us continue to be in good cheers, and exercise our faith that our sins are forgiven. Be thankful to God in all things, and whether we live or die, we shall be in Him always, because He is faithful to His promises.

God bless you all.

Isaiah 37

Prayer is the never-failing resource of God's people under testing. The mercy throne of the Father is open. Like Hezekiah, spread out your case and make it known. The true servants of God are also great intercessors, like Isaiah. They are those who prevail and live victoriously.

God bless you.

Isaiah 36

Rabshakeh's speech is similar to the serpent's in the Garden, trying to reverse the Word of God. "Do not listen to Hezekiah.. and the Lord can not deliver Jerusalem." In time when Satan tries to put doubt in our mind, hold your peace and leave everything to the Lord with humble submission and fervent prayer. There is time to keep silence and time to act.

God bless you.

Isaiah 35

Judea was properous in the days of Isaiah but spiritually bankrupt (like NY). The poor, the weak, and the true people of God saw the real condition of the nation. But God's promised, "Say to those who are fearful-hearted, be strong, do not fear. Your God will come with vengeance. He will come and save you" (v4).

God bess you.

Isaiah 34

This chapter is a prophecy of wars and destructions; all nations and people are concerned. And because we are believers, mercy and favor is exercised for us, with justice and righteousness. Soon, these bloodshed will happen and will be seen by our own eyes. "Search from the book of the Lord and read, not one of these shall fail; not one shall lack her mate, for my mouth has commanded it, and His spirit has gathered them" (v16).

God bless you .

Isaiah 33

Plunderers will be plundered, deceivers will be deceived, sinners will be judged. True believers watch against occasions of sin. The Divine power will keep them safe, and their faith will lead them to prosperity. "He will dwell on high, his place of defense will be the fortress of rock, bread will be given him, his water will be sure.

God bless you .

Isaiah 32

This chapter is a messianic promise that many will be satisfied from thirst, hunger and dryness. The present state of the Jews and the whole world will continue, "Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is counted as a forest" (v15). True satisfaction is with Jesus alone. The real happiness is the real holiness.

God bless you.

Isaiah 31

The enemy of God's people, Jews and Christians, is the devil, always roaring like a lion to terrify us. The prophet said, "The Lord of hosts will come down to fight for Mount Zion and for its hill" (v4). In time of troubles and conflict, see to it that we are on the side of God, because He will come for our defense. How? On bended knees!

God bless you .

Isaiah 30

It was a fault and unwise to seek the help of worldly people (represents Egypt) in time of troubles, instead of God. There are always dreadful consequences for "adding sin to sin" (v1), and not trust in God. The prophet said that Israel will fail if they continue to the carnality .

God bless you.

Isaiah 29

Ariel (Ari El) means Lion of God, signifies the altar of burn offering in Jerusalem. Outward religious service will not be acceptable to God especially if it is "taught by commandment of men" (v13). One may come to the temple or church, yet the "spirit of deep sleep" is hovering over his whole being. May God help us to be awake always in our Christian journey.

God bless you.

Isaiah 28

The only hope to escape God's coming judgment is Jesus Christ. This sure foundation was laid in Zion, it is a stone, firm and able to support His church. It is a tried stone, approved by God, and never failed. God's promise is "Whoever believes will never be shaken" (v16).

God bless you all.

Isaiah 27

The world is a barren and fruitless land, but the church is the vineyard of the Lord. "I the Lord, keep it, I water it every moment, lest any hurt it, I keep it night and day" (v3). Even in the day of prosperity or night of calamity, the Lord has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Keep it up and be faithful.

God bless you.

Isaiah 27

"In that Day" means the Day of the Lord or the 2nd Coming, the gates of heaven will be opened to the faithful and perfect peace will be realized at last. Therefore trust in the word of the Lord because they are true and eternal, but the promise of this world will last only for a moment.
God bless you.

Isaiah 25

On the day of the Lord's 2nd Coming, with exceeding joy and praises, we will say "Behold this is our God, we have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the Lord, we have waited for Him. We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation" (v9). Let's be ready always, even the prophets were anticipating the glorious return of the Lord.
God bless you.

Isaiah 24

Treasures and happiness in the whole world will soon be brought to misery. Sin has turned the earth upside down and become the place of evil men and women. "Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned and few men are left" (v6). Praise God, He has few people who are willing to mourn for sin and rejoice with God.
God bless you.

Isaiah 23

Tyre (Lebanon) was the marketplace of the nations (v3). But because of sins and pride, their efforts came to nothing. The prophet's message is clear, let the ruin of Tyre be a warning to all places and people to take heed of pride in time of success and abundance.

God bless you.

Isaiah 22

Shebna was treasurer over the land during the time of Hezekiah, but because of his pride, he was rejected by God. He forgot that the Lord is in control, not him. As Isaiah said, the key of the house of David is in God's Hand, He shall open and no one shall shut; He shall shut and no one shall open.

God bless you.

Isaiah 21

"Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he sees" (v6). God's workers and ministers are His watchmen in the community to see that all is safe. We need to know the motions and style of the enemies, in time of war and troubles and in time of peace. Let us be God's faithful watchman in our church.

God bless you.

Isaiah 20

God's command to Isaiah to remove his cloth and to walk barefooted is a sign that Egypt and Ethiophia will be led away captives by Assyrian power undressed. Lessons: God will judge the Israelites if they will continue sinning, and God is the Supreme Ruler and Sovereign in the entire world. My personal lesson: Let God be the Lord and Ruler of my life.

God bless you.

Isaiah 19

There is physical Egypt and spiritual Egypt, and our dark past is the spiritual one. The prophet said that God shall come into Egypt with His judgments and destructions (v1-3). But at the end (v23), a Savior will be sent to build the "highway" so the people can come to God's presence and serve Him. Praise God for saving our souls.

God bless you.

Isaiah 18

God cares for His people, and concerns about the increase of the church. "Go, swift messengers, to a nations tall and smooth of skin, to a people feared near and far, a nation barbaric and oppressive, whose land the rivers divide" (v2). Missionaries are sent by God and marked by Providence. Many of them are misunderstood, trampled, and trodden underfoot. But God gave them assurance that they will not be destroyed nor deserted.
God bless you!

Isaiah 16

People may do something to prevent the destruction of their lives. "Send the lamb to the ruler of the land" (v1). Our full commitment to the Lamb of God is the complete sacrifice we can offer. Those who has no commitment is like a bird that wanders out of its nest which can be snatched by the hunter (v2).

God bless you .
