Daniel 1

Daniel and his 3 friends avoided defiling themselves with sin of compromise (v8), a sin that we should fear more than any outward trouble. They kept their faith seriously, so God rewarded them with eminence in learning (v17). As Christians we should endeavor to grow and be a better person for the honor of our Lord.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 47

The water came up to ankles, then to knees, to waist, then it was a river. Water is symbol of God's spirit. This vision is parallel to our service to God, little by little, slowly but surely and with good result.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 48

This chapter is the vision of the city of our God (v30). Jesus Christ has opened the gates of the kingdom of heaven to us and to those who shall call upon His name for salvation. Indeed, it is only by grace that we’ve been saved, and for His own special purpose.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 46

Our Lord has directed us to do many duties, but he has also left many things to our choice. Only those who are happy to obey Him with pure conscience, willing to sacrifice and deny himself are fit for Master's works.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 45

While in diaspora, Ezekiel foretold that Israel shall worship their God in the sanctuary, in the restored land. God will provide honest Prince that will rule the people, to work as head of state and priest at the same time (v16-17).

God bless you.

Ezekiel 44

Until today, the eastern gate of the wall in Jerusalem is shut, and no one can enter there. (v1). They are waiting for the ‘prince’ (Messiah) who is to come (v3). This chapter reminds us that no other can enter heaven, the true sanctuary, except through Christ, who open the door for our salvation.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 43

Ezekiel’s vision of the glory of God (4), points to the sins of the people and the lamb sacrifice to be burned outside the sanctuary (v21). When Jesus came, He entered Jerusalem through the east gate on the last Passover (Mark 11), and crucified outside the gate (Hebrews 13:12) to fulfill the law. We are the fruits of His labor.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 42

This chapter describes the priests' many chambers or rooms, their use, and functions. Jesus said, In my Father's house are many rooms. The place that we use in church services, icare, prayer meeting, and other ministries is a chamber used for the Master.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 41

There’s so much detail and specific in this vision of the temple. The prophet wanted to tell that God is a God of plan and particular. To one not skilled in detailed works would be incomprehensible, but to us, faith and obedience is needed to follow God’s instruction.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 40

This is the vision of the temple that will be restored in the future. Whether the man here (v3) mentioned was the Son of God or an angel is not clear. But Christ is both our Altar and Sacrifice, the Savior of the whole earth, to whom we look with faith when we approach God.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 39

God will destroy the armies of Gog by miracle, at the same time He shall have mercy on the house of Israel. Christ will hide His face no more, but reveal Himself to the Jews, and the nations shall know that Jesus is YHWH, the Holy One in Israel (v7).

God bless you.

Ezekiel 38

These events will be in the latter days (v16). Israel will be invaded by her enemies, Gog of Magog, but God will protect His people. It may happen in our generation, so be aware that Satan, our real enemy, shall do his best to destroy God’s people and their plans.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 37

No one could restore human dry bones to life but God alone (v5). This vision was to encourage the desponding Jews that one day all of them will be restored by their God. Jesus said that those who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth. We are so blessed to have Jesus.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 36

Israel was scattered because of sin and uncleanness, however God has promised that they will be restored to the land given to their ancestors (v33). This is similar to our redemption through Christ, that a new spirit was given to us through the process of born again experience (v26).

God bless you.

Ezekiel 29

The history of modern world can be explained by knowing ancient prophecies. God can use even the worst men in the world just to fulfill His plans, like the Babylonians that "worked for God" (v20). But  God has mercy in store for the house of Israel and church of Jesus Christ (v21).

God bless you.

Ezekiel 28

There is not better way to please God than to exercise humility, because every spiritual pride is of the devil. It is a corruption of wisdom (v17), and defilement of God's authority. Those who indulge therein must expect destruction.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 27

Tyre (now part of Lebanon) was a prosperous city, center of commerce and industry in ancient time, but idolatrous and full of  immorality. They had forgotten that they were only God's steward, and should use their wealth in doing good to all. Lesson: God is the Possessor of our possessions.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 25

It is abomination to be glad at the failures and calamities of anyone, especially of God's people (v6-7). Our job is to pray for those who suffer and in trouble, that they may know the Lord in a new and better way.

God bless you.

Ezekiel 24

The pot on the fire represented Jerusalem besieged by the Chaldeans (v3). God's purpose is to cleanse them, but the people were not willing, instead they grew worse (v13). Lesson: Judgment may come to wicked people and it will surely come.

God bless you.
