Romans 12

The great enemy to the renewal of mind is conformity to this world, like forming plans for happiness in the things of this world. Thus, to be godly is to give up ourselves to God. All true Christians make up one body of Christ, some are fitted for one sort of work, others for another, for the common benefit. Whatever our gifts may be, let us try to employ ourselves humbly and cheerfully, not seeking our own credit... Reading: Romans 12. God bless. PF

Romans 11

Though the Jews rejected the gospel, God has a remnant who believe in Christ. They were kept according to God's election of grace. This rejection became the occasion for the Gentiles to be reconciled with God. Paul's warning is that though some branches (Jews) were cut off and Gentiles were grafted into God's plan, Gentile Christians ought to beware of self-deception and pride, or else, God can also cut them off... Romans 10

The strictness of the law shows that men need a Savior. But the Jews don't understand this (v3). When God sent Jesus to save mankind, they refuse to accept God's plan, but cling to their own ways. Jesus did not destroy the law but fulfilled its requirements through His death, and whoever believes in Him are counted just before God. Christianity is a relationship with God, leading men to genuine love and humility... Reading: Romans 10. God bless. PF

Romans 9

All things in this world happened according to the counsel of His will. God chose Isaac over Ismael, Jacob over Esau, Christians over unbelievers in order to fulfill His purpose. And whatever He does, it must be just and for eternal purpose. None of us have deserved God's favor, our part is to thank and serve Him 100%. The Bible tells that there is difference between the fake Christians and the real believer... Reading: Romans 9. Romans 8

Believers may be disciplined by the Lord, but will not be condemned with the unbelievers. By our union with Christ through faith, we are protected. Our interest now are how to please God, the purity of our souls, and things about Spirit. But the carnal mind is not only enemy to God, but enmity and rebellious itself. If God's Spirit be in us, we are alive to God and secured from eternal death... Reading: Romans 8. God bless. PF

Romans 7

People are ignorant of human nature and the perverseness of their own hearts because of the ignorance of the law (Bible). But when one starts reading of it, the Word shows how wrong his heart and life were. In Paul's past experiences, he wanted to do what is right, but no power to obey it. Instead, he does what he hates and no power to resist it. Why? Because sin is a tyrant master that dwells in the lives of men. Praise be to God, Jesus came to rescue and sent His spirit is us... Romans 6

The law is the knowledge of sin, while grace is the knowledge of forgiveness of sins. Being made free from the reign of sin, it is  our goal to advance in Christian living, and uproot all works of sin in the flesh, heart, and mind. God's pardon enables us to serve Him in the right way after receiving the gift of eternal life in Christ. So let us present all our efforts to God, as weapons ready for the warfare in His service... Reading: Romans 6. God bless. PF

Romans 5

This chapter speaks about polarity; God-man, Adam-Jesus, death- life, condemned-justified, offensive act-righteous act, law-grace, obedience-rebellion, enmity-reconciliation, and salvation- condemnation. Where do you stand? The holy and righteous God cannot be at peace with dark side. But thanks be to Jesus who died for us and became Peace-maker to provide the way for our reunion with God... Romans 4

Abraham, the most renowned forefather of the Jews had nothing to boast because he was saved by grace through faith. From this example, Paul explained that when a person believe in Christ, their faith are being counted for righteousness, because blessed are those whose sins are forgiven. Thus, Abraham is the spiritual forefather of all TRUE CHRISTIANS, who walked after the example of his faith and humility... Reading: Romans 4. God bless. PF

Romans 3

The law (OT) gave the Jews advantages to obtain knowledge of God and salvation. God shown them many favors and were made useful to proselyte others. If many rejected the law, that will not make God's faithfulness of no effect. He will fulfill His promise and bring His justice to all. Same thing with Christians, if people rejected us, Jesus' promise not to leave us nor forsake will remain true and eternal... Reading: Romans 3. God bless you.

Romans 2

The Jews thought themselves a holy people, entitled to their privileges by right, while they were unthankful, rebellious, and unrighteous. But many "Christian Gentiles" are doing the same; may got born again in one church, grow in knowledge, learn the basic principle, but in the end becoming ungrateful. All secret things and lying lips will be judged by the Lord according to the truth of the gospel... Reading: Romans 2. God bless. PF

Romans 1

It is necessary that we have a righteousness to appear in before God, that only the gospel of Christ can provide. Do not be ashamed of it because this is God's gracious way of salvation, and men's part is to accept it by faith. Faith grows progressively, from faith to faith, gaining victory after victory, expanding our ministry and territory, pressing forward from one place to another, because Jesus is all and all in our lives... Acts 28

After 3 months of travel, delay, and stranded in Malta, finally he made entry into Rome, chained as a poor captive. Here, he persuaded the Jews concerning Jesus, some received the light but others shut their eyes against it, having a great dispute among themselves (v29). History said that many Gentiles received the gospel, but the emperor Nero persecuted and murdered many believers including Paul... Acts 28: God bless. PF

Acts 27

God has determined that Paul should go to Rome, even before Festus decided to send him there, because God had work for him to do. God prepares our future ministries, and He also prepares the means to accomplish His plan through us. Duty is ours, even in the midst of the storms and difficulties. And if God has chosen us for salvation, He will also encourage us to trust and depend on Him... Reading: Acts 27. God bless. PF

Acts 26

King Agrippa was well versed in OT, so he could be the better judge as to the controversy about Jesus being the Messiah. Paul professed that he kept all good things in which he was first educated and trained up, a very religious persons. But this would not justify him before God. Agrippa saw the truth about Christianity and almost convinced to believe but his heart was not changed, a common situation for many people... Reading: Acts 26. God bless. PF

Acts 25

Paul was willing to abide by the rules of the law. If he deserved death, he would accept the punishment, but if those accusations were false, no man could deliver him unto them, with justice. Paul is neither released nor condemned, an example of the slow process of justice in this world. Because the unbelievers are guided only by the light of nature, not by the light of the word of God... Acts 24

Evil men's unhappiness will continue till the end of their lives, misleading the blinds and ignorants against the truth, but the people of God are always secured in the mighty Hand of the Lord. Felix heard both the defense of Paul and Tertullus, but in the day of judgment, he himself will stand before Christ to hear God's judgment. May the Lord grant us wisdom to treat all men fairly and righteously... Reading: Acts 24. God bless. PF

Acts 23

Whoever is against us, we need not fear, because in time of trouble  the Lord stood with Paul (v11), fulfilling His promise to be with His people always. Paul's accusers are united against him, but there is no true friendship among the wicked people, and God can turn their unity into open enmity soon. In our experience, always look up to God, because He can create a situation to rescue us from the mouth of unfaithful men... Reading: Acts 23. God bless. PF

Acts 22

Paul relates the story of his early life very particularly, and explained that his conversion was wholly the act of God. Though he studied from the feet of Gamaliel, yet sinners like him are struck blind by the power of darkness. In order to be enlightened, relationship with Christ has to be established, by accepting the gospel, receive forgiveness, be baptized, putting away the filth of sin, and be ready for oppositions.. Acts 21

Paul ascribed his success to God, so God honored him and gave him revelations more than any of the apostles, yet they did not envy him, but glorified the Lord. In contrast with unbelievers, they falsely accused him with ill doctrine against Mosaic law. Today, God's servants are not free from allegation in all that we do. It is in vain to please men who would be pleased with nothing but the destruction of our ministry... Reading: Acts 21. God bless. Acts 20

Those who would want to serve the Lord must do it with humility, tears and prayers; willingness to face trials and tribulations, and finish the race and assignment till death. Jesus Christ did it victoriously by purchasing the church of God with His own blood, and nothing moved Him away from doing God's work.   Paul's warning is to be faithful in the gospel, for many wolves will come among the church to destroy it (v29)... Acts 19

Paul found some religious people who believed to Jesus as the Messiah in Ephesus, but they had not been led to the Holy Spirit. Paul led them into the fullness of the gospel and were baptized in the name of Jesus, and spoke in tongues and prophesied. The Bible is very clear that receiving the seal of the power of the Holy Spirit is necessary for mission expansion, for believers' sanctification, and for the sincerity of their faith... Acts 18

Most of the Jews persisted in contradicting the gospel of Christ. They did all they could to keep others from believing. So Paul left them and turn to Gentiles. In our ministry, let us not be discouraged when the unbelievers and other Christians rejected us, the Lord knows all things. His promise is true and eternal, Jesus will be with us always (v10), He will never leave us nor forsake us... Reading: Acts 18. God bless. PF

Acts 17

Athens was then famous for learning and philosophy, but their knowledge was leading to idolatry. Today, idolatry is about money and self. Paul preached 2 principal doctrines of Christianity; Christ is our way, and heaven our end. Jesus is still UNKNOWN to many people, & someone must declare the gospel and made Him known. It's time for men to repent, because there is a day of reckoning, to face God's final judgment... Acts 16

Those who are thoroughly convinced of sin, and truly concerned about their salvation will give themselves up to Christ. The whole sum of the gospel was written here: "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your household." (v31) The Lord blessed the proclamation, that the jailer's heart was  softened, and the spirit of grace worked strongly to their families. May the Lord bless the proclamation of our faith...
