Hebrews 4

Sabbath is the rest day, but the true rest in God is the spiritual rest than can only be found in Jesus. Work is not the normal work, but work in doing sinful habit. The word of God gave us power to stop the work of sinful flesh in Christ. Our confession is that Christ is our High Priest who died for our sins on earth, but now interceding for the cause and offerings of His people in heaven. So let us come boldly to the throne, the true rest... Reading: Heb. 4. God bless PF

Hebrews 3

Moses was a faithful servant in the house owned by Christ. The hardening of the heart is the spring of all other sins; and the heart is the repository for good and evil. But now, we are made partakers of Christ's nature and righteousness, and they should maintain unto the end. Let us beware of trusting to outward privileges, but pray to be included with the true believers who entered heaven, while others failed because of unbelief... Reading: Heb. 3. God bless, PF

Hebrews 2

Our minds and memories are like leaky vessels, we don’t retain what is poured into them. Neglect of this great salvation, not caring of it, nor regarding the worth of the gospel is a sin in the Lord’s eyes. Our response is to love the Lord, and to pay more careful attention to the things we have heard. The suffering of Christ was confirmed to us by His witnesses, and it was accompanied with signs and wonders... Hebrews 1

This epistle shows the superiority of the gospel of Christ than the Law of Moses. Jesus' message is the final revelation of God to humanity, and the fulness of Godhead dwells in Him. Though angels were God's messengers and many Jews had a superstitious respect for angels, it was necessary to insist that they were only ministering spirits, mere servants of the Christ, Who is the creator of all things... Philemon

Philemon was a rich man, converted through Paul. Onesimus was the slave of Philemon, having run away from his master and went to Rome. Then, he met Paul and was converted to Christianity. Paul took care of him till his conduct proved the truth and sincerity of his conversion. Paul wished to restore the relationship of the two.  So he sent Onesimus back with a letter requesting Philemon to forgive his slave's wrong doing... Reading: Philemon. God bless. PF

Titus 3

The outward sign in baptism is the washing of regeneration. The work is inward and spiritual, resulting to the answer of good conscience, for without which the outward washing will avail nothing. The workers is the Spirit of God, who helps us to mortify sin, perform duties, and bear fruits. Though we may think some sins light, if the Lord awaken the conscience, we shall feel even the smallest sin heavy upon our souls... Titus 2

Senior disciples of Christ must behave in every thing agreeably to the Christian doctrine. Young men and adult must be sober and careful that God's word may not be blasphemed by unbelievers. Failure to do so is a great reproach to Christianity. The grace of God that brings salvation teaches believers to forsake sin and evil things. It leads us to look for the glorious appearing of Christ, the blessed hope of all Christians... Reading: Titus 2. God bless. PF

Titus 1

The character and qualities of a true leader is contrasted with false leader. God's leader takes care of the affairs of the church and his family, while the false leaders are described to be serving a worldly interest under pretense of religion. They profess to know God, yet in their actions deny and reject Him. The true Christians know what is true and pure, but those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure... Reading: Titus. 1. 2 Timothy 4

People will turn away from the truth, grow weary of the gospel. The love of this world is the cause of turning back from the ways of Jesus. But Paul had kept the faith, and the crown of righteousness awaited him. Believers have it not at present, for it is laid up for them in heaven. Let's continue to preach the word, in season or out of season. We need no more to make us happy, than to have the Lord Jesus with our spirits... Reading: 2 Tim. 4. God bless. PF

2 Timothy 3

The church suffered from the outside through persecution, and from the inside because of some corrupt members who want to gratify their own interest. Times are perilous when people are without natural affection to others, and have no rule over their own spirits. A form of godliness is traditional religion, but the power of God transforms life. The Bible is the only book that can make a person wise unto salvation in Christ... Reading: 2 Tim. 3. God bless. 2 Timothy 2

The focus of a Christian must be the reward, eternity with Christ.
If we would partake the fruits, we must labor; if we would gain the prize, we must run the race. Paul compared the believers to  furnitures, some of great value, made of gold, some to smaller value, made of wood and clay. See to it that we are of great value to God. Every one in the church must be devoted to his Master's service, and thus fitted for His use... Reading: 2 Tim. 2. God bless. PF

2 Timothy 1

Some of the most worthy and valuable servants the church has produced were ladies, like Lois and Eunice; faithfully serving the Lord. Paul's reminder was to stir up the gift the Holy Spirit has given us. Don't be afraid to use them, for God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power to meet difficulties and dangers; and the spirit of love which will carry us through opposition. So don't give up if someone turn away from us... Reading: 2 Tim. 1. God bless. PF

1 Timothy 6

Those who use Christianity to serve their own purpose will be disappointed, but those who mind it as their calling will be happy in this world even in another world. Godly people are content in their lives, but those who desire to be rich will be in danger. Money is good but covetousness is evil because they are giving Satan opportunity to tempt them to be dishonest, practice evil, and neglect God's word... Reading: 1 Tim. 6. God bless. PF

1 Timothy 5

Respect must be paid to the dignity of years. Honor widows that are widows indeed, and encourage them. It is the duty of children, if parents are in need, to do it to the utmost of their strength. But widows who live in pleasure are spiritually dead while they live. God expects that Christians shall honor leaders, especially those who labor in words and teachings. Take care of our health so we can use our body for God's glory... Reading: 1 Tim. 5. God bless. PF

1 Timothy 4

In the latter days, some will depart from the true faith but will only listen to false teachings, unbiblical, even to the doctrine of demons. This is a strong warning to faithful Christians. Some people are concern on their physical body, but godliness is what God requires from us. Each of us receive the gift from Holy Spirit when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, so let us not neglect that gift but use to glorify the Lord... Reading: 1 Tim. 4. God bless. PF

1 Timothy 3

If Christians desire to serve God in a higher level, (ministry head) they must be ready to deny their worldly passion, and undergo hardships by devoting themselves to that ministry, otherwise they bring shame upon their position. Take heed of pride always, it is this sin that turned angels into demons. The mystery of godliness is Christ. He is God, who was made manifest in the flesh, taking our sins away, to be the people for Himself... Reading: 1 Tim. 3. God bless. PF

1 Timothy 2

The disciples of Christ must pray always. Our duty to God is to live a godly life and with all honesty. Godliness is the right worship of God; honesty is good conduct toward all men, and they must go together. Sin had made a quarrel between God and men, Jesus is the Mediator who makes peace. So, we must come to the knowledge of truth, for that is God's way to save sinners, otherwise we can't have peace with God. Reading: 1 Tim. 2. God bless. PF

1 Timothy 1

Law is good if one uses it lawfully; lawfully means total obedience, not just knowing it (v8). But man can only obey it through the strength of the Holy Spirit. Jesus came into the world to save sinners like us, and godliness of heart can be kept up by exercising faith in Him. Let us be upright in our conduct, do not abuse the grace of God, for some have violated their conviction that their faith has been shipwrecked... Reading: 1 Tim. 1. God bless. PF

2 Thessalonians 3

Many do not believe the gospel, and no wonder if they are restless and show malice in their endeavors to oppose it. Those who have received the gospel, are to live according to the gospel. Hold on to the end, never give up, or tire in work. The servant who waits for his Lord must be working as the Lord commanded. If we are idle, the devil will soon find us somewhat to do. It will be time enough to rest when we come to heaven... Reading: 2 Thes. 3. God bless. PF

2 Thessalonians 2

Jesus is surely coming soon! This has been the faith & hope of all Christians, in all ages. All faithful believers shall be gathered together to Christ, to be with Him forever. The warning is that false doctrines will come like wind, & there would be a general falling away of many people, before this event come. Great division will be seen everywhere about the true doctrines. The man of sin will promotes wickedness with the intent of destroying the souls of many... Reading: 2 Thes. 2. God bless.

2 Thessalonians 1

God will trouble those that trouble His people, but rest from sin and sorrow to His servants. Jesus will appear in that Day with glory and power. His light will be piercing, and power consuming to all that rejected his message. Since that Day is just ahead, let us pray always that God will make us fit for what He has called us to be, and fill us with wisdom and act of faith with His own energy so that we can stand on that Day... 1 Thessalonians 5

Christ did not reveal the exact time of His coming, but there are times and seasons for us to work in, and these are our duties to know and observe. This event will be a great surprise to all. It is horrible to the ungodly, no means to escape the wrath of God, but happy day to the true believers. So, let us strive to awaken ourselves and guard our spiritual enemies, so we can live to Him, with whom we hope to live forever... Reading: 1 Thes. 5. God bless. PF

1 Thessalonians 4

Sanctification is a continuing work in process for our salvation, so  strict restraint must be put upon the passion of our body and on the inclinations of our will, that if not check, may lead to wrong use. Death is unknown to men, and we know little about the state of man after death. The resurrection is the remedy for the fear of death. At the 2nd coming, everything will be changed, our life is full of happiness in Christ forever... Reading: 1 Thes. 4. God bless. PF

1 Thessalonians 3

Paul's intent was to comfort the Thessalonians about their faith, that Jesus Christ was the Savior of the world. They should not be shaken by afflictions because Jesus suffered and they would also enter into his kingdom through many sufferings. But Jesus is more than enough to make up all their losses, and to reward all their labors. Therefore, let us acknowledge God in all our ways, and He will bless our plans and increase our love to one another... 1 Thes. 3. God bless PF
