Peter said that these dispersed, suffering Christians were the flock of God, redeemed by the blood of the Great Shepherd. The leaders should live by examples, not as being lords over those entrusted to them (v3), while the members must submit the their elders and be clothed with humility (v4). All faithful ministers will receive a crown of unfading glory, better and more honorable than all the authority, wealth, and pleasure of the world. Humility preserves peace and order in all Christians churches and societies, but pride disturbs them. In time of difficulties, cast all your cares to Him, and beware of the works of the devil who always walks and roars to seek whom he may devour. Remember that our sufferings are not unusual, they are common to all men, therefore be steadfast and have a solid faith in Christ. Pray always one with another, because all solid peace is founded on Christ, and flows from Him alone. God bless.
