The ark was finished and Noah together with his wife, three sons and their wives were called by God to come inside of it. Noah and his family had taken a great works to build the ark by faith, in the warning given that the flood would come, and now they were kept alive in it. "Come into the ark," means God is with them inside. On the day they closed its door, the windows of heaven were opened, and the waters were poured upon the earth without stop for forty days and forty nights, flooding the whole earth. Noah brought all kinds of animals, coming in pairs, male and female, just as God commanded him. God judged the entire world, men, women, and children, so that the water covered the earth 150 days. Jesus Christ said in the gospel that till the very day that the flood came, the people were eating and drinking. They were deaf and blind to all Divine warnings and revelations. Our lesson is to take God's word sincerely and joyfully in serving our Lord while waiting on His return. God bless.

As the people increase in numbers, giants began to appear on earth, and they became corrupt and wicked. God saw that everything they thought or imagined was totally evil. So God resolved to destroy all living things on the face of the earth, though it broke His heart. But there was a man who never conform to the system of the evil world, Noah, and he found favor in the eyes of the Lord. God spoke to Noah and told him to build an ark with its specifications, because He had decided to destroy the wicked world by flood of waters which should drown the entire humanity. Also, God told him to bring two of every kind of clean animals, and food as well to preserve and keep them alive. This chapter tells that any thing that we do in obedience to God, we and our families are likely to have the benefit of it. The devotion of parents to God gets the children good in this life, and furthers them in the way to eternal life if they continue and improve it. Today, we don't need an ark, we have Jesus Christ who is able to save us in time of judgment and destructions. God bless.

Adam was created in the image of God, but when he sinned, he begat his children in his own image, sinful and mortal, like himself. Soon, Adam and all his children began to die one by one, a complete opposite of the Divine likeness in which Adam was made. He lost this likeness, and could not convey it to his own seeds. He lived 930 years; and then died, according to the sentence passed upon him, "To dust thou shalt return" (3:19). Though he did not die in the day he ate the forbidden fruit, yet in that very day he became mortal, and began to deteriorate. Methuselah lived 969 years, the longest that any man ever lived. The phrase "and he died" shows that people began to die literality, except Enoch for God took him (v24). Godliness is walking with God, which means reconciliation with Him, to set Him always before us, and to act as always under His eyes and protection. While other people continued to live in this evil world, Enoch was removed to a better world. On the second coming of Christ, Christians will also be removed from this world, because He had prepared mansion for us in His Fathers house. God bless.

The fruit offering of Cain was rejected by the Lord, but the firstborn animal sacrifice of Abel was accepted. Here shows that God does not look at the content or amount of the offerings, but at the attitude of the heart. Abel offered in faith, while Cain offered out of obligation. "If you do well, will you not be accepted?" God said to Cain. The results were anger, envy, jealousy and hatred, so Cain murdered his brother. In the first generation of humanity, there was sin, and in the second and subsequent, there were killings. Lamech began to kill people too (v23). The hearts of men became desperately wicked after eating the forbidden fruit. The land of Cain was called Nod, means "trembling" that gives us idea that people were restless and uneasy in their own spirit, because they had been separated from God. At the same time, they built city and tents, had livestocks, played harp and musical instruments, and became skillful in many things. This chapter had ended by giving us hope that there were people who remained faithful to God. Seth began to call on the name of the Lord. God

From the beginning, the devil's plan was to draw our first parents to sin, to separate them from God. It was God's command not to eat the forbidden fruit, but Satan reversed it, and taught Adam and Eve to doubt God's word. The process was clear; the woman saw the fruit, then she took it and ate, finally gave to her husband and ate the same. In neglecting the tree of life, of which they were allowed to eat, they showed a contempt on what God has bestowed upon them, the eternal life (22). The glory of God had departed from them so that they became naked upon their eyes, and sew fig-leaves to cover their body. As a result, God had cursed the serpent more than all animals, punished both man and woman, and promise that someday, the seed of the woman shall crush the head of the serpent (v15). Since then, all human beings became similar to Adam and Eve, disobedient to God's word, following the desire of their own. Then, they were driven out of the garden, and the way to the tree of life was shut. However, God gave them hope that the Seed, Jesus Christ, by whom a new and living way, is laid open for them and their descendants. God bless.

After six days, God ceased from all works of creation, and the sabbath was appointed for all succeeding generations. God put Adam and Eve at the Garden of Eden, signifying delight and pleasure. It was filled with every tree pleasant to the sight that yielded fruit grateful to the taste and good for food. Eden had two important trees; tree of life and tree of knowledge of good and evil. Even in paradise itself man had to work, to take care of it. None of us were here to be idle. There was liberty in the garden, but there was a trial appointed to obey or disobey God's words. Power over the creatures was given to man, and as a proof of this, Adam named them all. Of all the creatures nothing in the garden was a help meet to man but a woman. He called her Eve, the mother of all living. Like our first parents, our assignment in God's new creation is to take care of it because we are representing His only Son, Jesus Christ. God bless.

Genesis is a name taken from the Greek word, signifying the beginning and origin of all things. In the beginning was God and God alone. Then, He created heaven and earth, showing His power as the Creator of all things. He spoke, then all things come into being. He created the light, He separates the earth from the waters, and makes it fruitful. He forms the sun, moon, stars, and animals. At the end He created man in His own image, and God considered that all created things are very good. God said, "Let there be light", and at once there was light. It shows that if God will not give His light to all, the whole world will be full of darkness. The earth was empty, but by a word spoken it became full of God's riches. And if our heart does not have word of God, it will be empty and dark, and totally separated from the light of God. The Lord gave Adam and Eve the authority to rule and subdue His creation, because they are God's representatives in this newly created world. Let us always remind ourselves that we too are Christ's representative as the new creation in this world. God bless.

The tree of life and the pure water that comes from the throne of God are the source of healing and happiness of God's people. In our new home, there is no night, no affliction, no diversion of service, but a complete different from the human point of view of happiness. While God will hide His face to the unbelievers, the redeemed shall see His face always, and His name shall be in our foreheads (v4). The entire message in the book of Revelation is faithful and true, therefore we should read and meditate it for the complete redemption of our souls. John declares that only God is to be worshipped, because angelic worship is part of idolatrous practice among the pagan people. God calls the believers to witness for the declaration of this prophecy, that it should be kept open, and internalize with their holy living. Jesus himself is our reward, for He alone can satisfy our hunger and thirst. Let us remain faithful to the teaching of the Bible, don't add nor deduct, and be ready for His imminent return. God bless.

God will make all things new, with new heaven and new earth. The old world, with its troubles and turmoils had passed away. No more sea, no sin, no evil, no sorrow, no crying, no pain, no death, but full of light, full of righteousness, and full of God's presence. The New Jerusalem, the Lamb's wife, shall be the eternal home of the redeems. It has 12 gates bearing the name of the the 12 tribes of Israel, and 12 foundations exhibiting the names of the 12 apostles of Christ. It has 12 sorts of precious stones, indicating the variety and excellence of the gospel of Christ. Our new home is a safe and wonderful place, each gate has a pearl, and the main street is pure gold, as clear as glass. We will not be idle there, but we shall have a perfect fellowship both with God and His holy people. The glory of God lightens the entire place, and the Lamb is the Light in there. This place is exclusive only to those whose name are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. God bless.

Satan is bound into the bottomless pit, and Christ will come to earth to reign for 1000 years, together with the believers. But after 1000 years Satan will be released and will go out to deceive the nations, and gather them together to battle against Christ. This will be final test of the nations' loyalty to God, and they shall fail. God shall devour and cast them into the lake of fire as their eternal doom. Then Christ shall judge the unbelievers at the Great White Throne, a place of judgement different from the redeemed. Their names are not written in the Book of Life because they had not been born in the kingdom of God, but rejected the gospel. Another book will be opened because God will recollect all of their past actions, sins that had not been erased by the blood of Christ, and each one is judged according to his works. Their eternal destiny is lake of fire, the second death and final separation from their Creator; men and demons in the same place. Let it be our concern, that Christ died for us, and there is no condemnation to those who are in Him. God bless.

Let us rejoice and be glad, and always give glory to Jesus Christ, because of what He has done in our lives. He called us, saved us, adopted us, and soon He will glorify us. Only Christ is worthy of praise, worship and adoration, and no other name, not even those ministering angels (v10). Christ is the Head of the church (not Peter), He remains faithful to us even though we are sometimes unfaithful, His blood takes our sins away, He feeds our souls by His Word, and He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. John described Him as the One riding on a white horse, coming down from heaven to earth as the emblem of justice and holiness. He is perfect in all His ways, but His perfection cannot be fully understood by any creature on their own; they need the Word of God. Those who believe in His name will share their joy on the marriage of the Lamb and His bride. But the beast, the false prophet, and their followers will cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone (v21). The words in the Bible are true, they are reliable and faithful promise of God to His people. God bless.

Babylon is a symbol of the entire world's system for economics, politics and military rule. The wickedness was very great, forsaking the true God, setting up idols, and had drawn all sorts of men and women into immoral lifestyle, spiritual adultery and false worship. By deceitful manner, people get rich, and by their wealth and luxury, this evil system had kept the people's interest. John tells that the Lord has people in Babylon, but He called them to get out from it, and not to partake in their sins, or else they shall receive their plagues too. The kings and political leaders of the world mourned as they saw the collapse of the entire world. The merchants and businessmen wept too because no one buys their merchandise anymore (v11). The riches of the ungodly people will avail nothing, and their love for money shall bring them to their own destructions. They lament not for the anger of God, but for the loss of outward comforts. On the other hand, the heaven rejoices, including the apostles, prophets, and all believers, for God had judged evil men for our sakes. Indeed, God is alive, and He knows all things. God bless.

The mother of great harlots and abominations of the earth shall be judged finally. She sat on a red beast having seven heads and ten horns, arrayed in purple and red, holding a golden cup full of blood. She intoxicated herself with it, and this blood represents the lives of the Christians and martyrs of Jesus Christ. John explained that the beast on which the woman sat was a seat of idolatry and persecution. The seven heads are the kings of the earth or empires in different generations; five had gone when this book was written, one was during the day when John wrote it, and the one is yet to come (v10). The ten horns are ten kings that shall rise in the last days including the "one is yet to come" (most probably in our generation). These ten kings will allow the beast to rule over them, and make war against the Lamb. But Christ who has supreme dominion over all the earth shall defeat them, and God will cause people to realize their sins and see the wickedness of the harlot and the beast. The believers will be received to the glory of God, while wicked men and women will be destroyed in the most awful manner. May the Lord find us faithful on His return. God bless.

Here is the succession of terrible judgments, and there are similarities to some of the plagues in Egypt in the book of Exodus; malignant sores, water to become blood, darkness, blast of heat, earthquake, etc. All things throughout the earth, air, sea, rivers, cities, are all condemned to ruin, all accursed because of the wickedness of the people. They are haters of Christ and God, and in the midst of the sufferings, they never repent from their sins, nor acknowledge their sinfulness. Darkness is the opposite of light, and those who do not live in the light of God will be doomed forever, separated from the knowledge and wisdom of God. They are confused as they follow the wicked wisdom of the beast, of the dragon and his false prophet (v13). The battle of Armageddon shall take place and Christ is shall come. When the angel poured forth the last bowl, Babylon collapsed (political, economic, religious system in this world), and the inhabitants of heaven saw it and rejoiced. Blessed are those that watch and keep themselves away from the impurities of this world because they will be with Him forever and ever. God bless.

In preparation for the seven last plagues, the victorious followers of Christ over the image and mark of the beast sang the Song of Moses joyfully. "Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty!" The more we praise the Lord's wonderful works, the more we shall worship His greatness as our King. Then, seven angels appeared to finish the destruction of all the enemies of God on earth. They are prepared for their works, ministering in behalf of God, doing every thing in a pure and holy manner. Seven golden bowls were given to them, full of the wrath of God for the final judgment. The temple in heaven was filled with smoke, and no one can enter it till the seven plagues were completed. This is the final outpouring of God's judgment to earth, and the greatest deliverance of the people who call upon His holy name. Our good Lord is alway in control. God bless.

We first encountered the 144,000 in chapter 7, and they had been sealed by God having the Father's name written in their foreheads. Here, they remained faithful to the Lord and followed Him wherever He goes, even in the darkest hour. They kept themselves clean from the wicked abominations of the followers of antichrist, and from the seduction of this evil world. Then another angel appeared, flying with an everlasting gospel of Christ in his hand, preaching it on the earth. The Bible tells that there is no other salvation found in this world except through the name and teaching of the Christ. And because of the gospel's proclamation, Babylon has fallen, and the works of darkness had been destroyed by the power of His Name. But the sins of all nations are filled up, and they become ripe for judgments. Christ thrust in His sickle, a symbol of judgment to all that rejected Him. They shall be tormented with fire and brimstone to the place they have chosen in all eternity. Today, may it be our prayers that the Lord may find us faithful, righteous and honorable in the day of His coming. God bless.

The beast with seven heads and ten horns continued to devastate the lives of all people on earth, and the dragon (devil) gave him power and authority. Those whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb followed the deception of the beast, and worshipped the dragon. The people of the world admired their power, economic system, and religious policy, while the two evil beasts continued to blasphemed the name of the Lord, His people, and His dwelling place in heaven. Then, another beast appeared that had two horns like a lamb but spoke like a dragon (v11). This beast appeared to people like a gentle religious leader, but behind their back is like the devil, deceiving and tricking the people by his signs, miracles and wonders. He causes all people to receive a mark on their right hand or forehead, controlling their entire lives, including their movement, their food distribution, and their wealth and properties. The number of the beast is 666, and those that are ignorant of the Bible will never understand this wisdom and mystery. God bless.

John saw a vision of a pregnant woman clothed with the sun, and moon beneath her feet, and a crown of twelve stars on her head, was crying on her labor pains. Then a dragon appeared, Satan, having seven heads with crowns and ten horns, ready to destroy her baby as soon as it was born. But Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, the old old serpent. Michael won the battle and the dragon and his fallen angels that deceived the whole world, were cast out of heaven and thrown down to the earth. But the believers had overcome the accuser of the brethren by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimonies (v11). The salvation and strength of the church are only to be ascribed to the King and Head of it, Jesus Christ. But the dragon continued to persecute the woman who gave birth to a male Child (v13). With God's mighty protection, she was given two wings so she could fly away from the dragon. Then the dragon tried to drown the woman with a flood, but the earth helped her by swallowing the water. This chapter shows that Satan shall not stop to persecute and deceive the people of God, however, God shall not stop also to protect His faithful people until the final victory and the return of Christ. God bless.

The two witnesses are God's servants that will attest the truth of His word and the excellence of God's way during this time. They shall prophesy in sackcloth, fire proceed from their mouth, have power to shut heaven so that no rain falls, turn water to blood, and strike the earth with all plagues as they desire (v6). The devil that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them and kill them in Jerusalem. But after three-and-a-half days, they will be resurrected and ascend to heaven in a cloud (raptured), in full view of all people in the world. Note: When we are called by God to witness for Christ and share the gospel, we should not be weary of suffering and service, but must stay faithfully till our Lord and Master call us up; for great is our reward. Then the seventh trumpet was sounded with great joy and proclamation in heaven because the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord (v15). Remember that the triumph of darkness is not permanent, for God has the power to stop them, and His people shall reign with Him forever and ever. God bless.

As part of the sixth seal of the previous chapter, another angel, clothed with a cloud and a rainbow upon his head, came down from heaven with a little book in his hand. Rainbow and book (Word) are reminder of God's covenant to people. The angel cried out with a loud voice, then seven thunders uttered their voices (3). We don't know the subject of the seven thunders, but the angel gave us idea that they are about the mystery of God that will be accomplished, just as He announced to His servants the prophets (v7). They are the final salvation of God's redeemed people, who had engaged themselves for the unfailing Word of God. John was told to eat the little book literally, with spiritual meaning to the readers. We know that when the book (Bible) was receive by men or women, it was good and sweet. However, when they thoroughly digested it, the contents would be bitter, and there were terrible trials and persecutions that may happen to the believers. Therefore, let us look unto Jesus, ignore the pains but obey His commands, because this little book will nourish our souls until the end of the age. God bless.

The fifth trumpet signals the opening of the bottomless pit. The smoke came, and out of this a swarm of locusts, an emblem of the devil's agent that promote darkness, spiritual blindness and ignorance to people. The locust has no power to hurt the believers with the seal of God in their foreheads, but can inflict harm to those that are ignorant of the Word. Our Lord is all-powerful, and can distinguish the true followers and fake believers. The power of the devil is limited to five months, but very sharp and devastating. The sixth trumpet was sounded and four angels that are bound in Mesopotamia were released to cause war, and spread destructive religion. This anti-Christian generation, with two hundred million followers, had the power to speak evil words like fire, smoke and brimstone that come out of the mouth. They worship demons, idols made of gold and silver, they are murderers, and sexually immoral, but never repent for their evil works. As students of the Bible, our goal is to counter these evil acts by following the works of Jesus in loving God and loving our brethren. God bless.

The seventh seal is opened, and seven angels appear with seven trumpets, ready to proclaim the plan of God. But another angel came having a golden censer with incense to offer prayer to God. All prayers of the sincere believers are accepted in heaven, and they produced great changes upon the earth, including our lives, our situation, our society, church and community. When the first angel sounded the first trumpet, hail and fire with blood and destruction fell upon the third of the earth. On the second trumpet, a third part of the sea became blood with more destructions. The third trumpet brought the stars fell from heaven. And in the fourth trumpet, darkness fell upon the sky, and third of the sun, moon and stars did not give their light. These are the coming judgment of God to the inhabitants of the earth. When the gospel proclaims to the people and they has no proper response in it, this shall follow the dreadful wrath. For the past 2000 years, the Christians are preaching the gospel in the world, but only few had a positive response. May the Lord find us faith upon His return in this world. God bless.

The angel said: "Do not harm the earth, sea or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads" (v3). This seal or mark is God's protection to His people, that they should not suffer from affliction but prepared against all conflicts. The number of those who were sealed were 144,000 that could be understood either literal or figurative, the remnant which God preserved; 12,000 each tribe of Israel. Then John saw great multitude of believers standing before the throne of Christ, clothed with robes of salvation, having palms in their hands victoriously. With a loud voice, they gave to God and the Lamb the praise of the great salvation (v12). It shows that if we want to be on that glorious event, we ought to serve God now, together with the physical body of Christ, the true Church. There might be trials, tribulations and miseries in life, but they are not permanent because our stay in this world is not permanent. Thanks be to God who has loved us with an everlasting love, and to the Lamb that was slain for the redemption of our souls through His blood. God bless.

Jesus Christ the Lamb of God has opened the seals. The first seal shows a rider on a white horse, carrying a bow with crown on his head. His goal was to conquer, win battles and gain victory over all the earth. The second seal had a red horse having a great sword, bringing war, persecutions and killing each other. The third seal had a black horse having a pair of scales, signifying a famine of bread because of war. The fourth seal shows a rider on a pale horse named Death and Hades, bringing great slaughter, devastation and destruction of lives of people. God gave them authority to fulfill His plans and to complete the mystery of iniquities. The fifth seal shows the souls of the martyred believers under the altars, crying for justice from God. These people had suffered for the sake of the word of God during the time of tribulations. When the sixth seal was opened, there was a great earthquake, the sun became black, the moon became like blood, and the stars fell to the earth. This is the wrath of God against wicked men who rejected the word of God. No one can stop God to punish the non-believers of the Day of Judgment. Let us be prepared always. God bless

John saw in the Hand of Him who sat upon the throne a scroll, sealed with seven seals. This scroll represented the secret plans of God about to be revealed toward the church, the nation of Israel and the world. The creatures cannot open it, nor read it, but only the Lord. We need not to weep because we have Jesus Christ, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, appearing as the Lamb that was slain, worthy to open the seal, standing as Mediator between God and the entire creation (v11). He has seven horns and seven eyes, signifying perfect power to execute the will of God, wisdom to understand it, and to do it in the most effective way. The Holy Spirit is in Him to reveal the truth and will of God to all His followers. The harps were instruments of praise, the bowls of incense are prayer of the saints. Praises and prayers should always go together. "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessings" (v12). Blessed are those who shall adore and praise in heaven, and who shall for ever bless the Lamb. God bless.

After giving instructions to write to the churches "the things that are," John was summoned to "come up here." He saw a throne set in heaven, and the glorious One sat upon the throne with His surpassing brightness. The Lord shows a glimpse of heaven, the emblems of the excellence of the Divine nature and of God's dreadful justice. Rainbow reminds us of God's covenant with humanity from the time of Noah; twenty four elders in white robes with crowns of gold on their heads signifies the purity and victory of God's people; lightnings and voices that proceeded from the throne is similar to the giving of the Law at Mount Sinai to Moses; seven Spirits of God is the Spirit of perfection in the midst of God's people; and the four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back signifies the all-knowing attributes of God that nothing can be hidden from Him. In heaven, Jesus Christ is the the center of worship; "Holy holy holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and who is and who is to come" (v8), no other but Him. All things were created by Christ, and by His will we all exist, and we became Christians. God bless.
